Smile, you're doing good in the world!

In which Jill celebrates convenience.

A recent New York Times article proclaimed “the second wave of convenience technologies.” We pay our bills on our smart phones. We can buy toilet paper and cars online. We can go to college without leaving the house. Even charitable giving is easier!

I first learned about AmazonSmile from a rescue friend who asked me to support an animal sanctuary that badly needed donations. For the next three years, every purchase I made on Amazon.com—and let's just say I made quite a few—contributed money to the sanctuary. I’m sure it helped some dogs. But knowing that others were donating too assured me that, through AmazonSmile, we were making a difference!

I think everyone who shops on Amazon.com should use AmazonSmile. The donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation, so nothing comes out of your pocket. You can donate to any non-profit that’s set up on the site, and there’s even a search function to help you choose.

So why the AmazonSmile plug? Because Outta the Cage is officially set up on AmazonSmile! Click/tap on the button below to automatically select Outta the Cage as your charity to support on AmazonSmile.

What you need to remember is that anytime you want something from Amazon, you will need to go to smile.amazon.com (not amazon.com) so that Outta the Cage receives a 0.5% donation for every AmazonSmile-eligible product you buy. This donation will help us video more dogs, sponsor the dogs who need a push, cover expenses for our "viDOGrapher" training clinics, and give us a cushion with foster and vetting expenses.

And if you’re a 501(c)3, visit org.amazon.com to learn how to set up your organization on AmazonSmile.

You can share the love by changing your charity at anytime. It’s fun knowing that everything you buy helps you do good in the world. Plus, it’s super convenient!
